Greece is one of the civilizations that has had the greatest impact on history.
His influence has changed our societies considerably in a multitude of areas. To him, for example, we owe democracy, his mythology still fascinates us today, his cultural and historical legacy has crossed borders.
It was therefore logical that the Greek artistic field was also: painting, sculpture, architecture,… and obviously goldsmithing, from which we still draw inspiration for our jewels today.

Symbols of ancient Greece
Heracles knot
Heracles (Hercules in ancient Rome), a mythical hero whose image is told as the ideal of fighting strength.
In mythology he kills the Nemean lion, removes its skin since it is invincible, and then uses it as armor by tying it with a knot of two opposite rings.
For the Greeks, the knot that bears his name was a symbol of vigor, energy, power and strength, that is, the qualities of the hero.
Many jewels feature the design of this knot, also a symbol of fertility, since worn on the belt by young brides, only the husband could untie it on the wedding night.

For the Greeks this knot also had the power to heal wounds. It was also regularly used in the medical field.
The serpent
The serpent is associated with Asclepius, god of medicine who, in mythology, was able to resurrect the dead. Having as an attribute a stick around which a snake is wrapped, capable of curing all diseases.

The representation of the snake in medicine is visible almost everywhere, such as the caduceus, the emblem of French doctors, or the snake on the flag of the World Health Organization.
