Jewelery that reflects the personality of its creator, the creation of tailor-made jewelery for yourself or as a gift always tells a personal story.
This is why create your own jewelry it is the dream of many, but which does not come true due to a lack of practical knowledge of goldsmith techniques.
However, the process of making jewelry itself only requires ideas and paper to bring it to life. All that remains is to realize your ideas to make them come to life. The power and flexibility of current IT tools now allow everyone to create their own jewel online and receive it physically at home.
It is this creative process that we invite you to discover through this article that presents its creationan 18k white gold ring with two magnificent sapphires.
Bring your ring design to life
For this custom ring project, the sponsor already had a clear idea of her ring design. He wanted 18k white gold for a clean, modern design that would highlight two fine or precious stones.
We intervened to advise her on the width of the ring profile, the spacing of the stones and the type of stone through digital simulations and estimates which allowed her to adapt the choice to the budget of her project.

His choice ultimately fell on two 5mm AAA quality round sapphires from mines in Sri Lanka. These sapphires have been treated to enhance their color, so they represent a great compromise price for flawless stones that offer beautiful coloration.

3D creation of the ring body
Once the design has been frozen, you can move on to the actual creation of the wax model via 3D printing, a faithful reproduction of the CAD sketched design.

This 3D printing manufacturing process allows you to test the design before having to cast it in gold; it is a very useful tool to physically ensure that the model corresponds to the customer’s tastes without taking any risks.
Different types of wax allow you to have a plastic ring suitable for handling or wax intended for processing.

At this stage the customer has a very precise idea of the final result of his jewel and the jeweler can begin its creation with confidence, eliminating the risks of producing non-compliant jewellery.
Production and finishing
As part of our ring project, wax was used to make a mold into which molten gold was poured.
After the classic operations of trimming, cleaning and setting the stones, here is the final result, a custom-made ring that made its creator happy.
