Chunky silver link bracelets are a flattering style for men.
We had already had the opportunity to make one of these large bracelets for a customer. This was a semi-rigid three-row curb link bracelet, the manufacturing details of which can be seen here.
In this case it is once again a curb chain bracelet, but the link of the bracelet is very loose as it is 18 millimeters wide and the bracelet remains flexible.

With a length of 22.5 centimeters and a width of 18 millimeters, this bracelet weighs approximately 80 grams in solid silver. It is therefore a beautiful jewel whose presence is felt on the wrist and which, although sober, is clearly visible on the wrist.
Production of shirts
As with all our silver bracelet models, the process begins with the melting of a laminated silver bar to obtain a wire, which has a square shape due to the geometry of the rolling rollers.
Square-shaped laminated wire before shaping
This thread is then passed through a die to give it the round shape and the right diameter, necessary to create the bracelet links.
This wire is then wrapped around a mandrel to obtain a spiral, which you can see below.

Our spiral made of silver wire from which our links will be cut
The spiral is then cut with a saw, allowing us to obtain our links.
These are then opened individually, threaded into another connection and then closed before being soldered. The operation repeats successively until we obtain our string.
This chain is then put under tension, the links are twisted and then filed to give them the characteristic geometry of the curb links visible here.

At this point we need to start producing the locking mechanism, which will be a ratchet lock, resistant and easy to use.
Development of the ratchet closure
Making the clasp begins by rolling a 925 silver bar into a thin sheet, visible below.
Plate used to make the mechanical closure of the bracelet

Cutting of the silver plate to make the closure
This plate is cut, bent and welded to create the two male and female parts of the closure, which must fit into each other. The clasp ratchet is made by bending a silver blade, which will create a natural spring effect allowing the clasp to close and activate its opening.

Creation of the female part of the closure

Fixing of the lower plate of the female part of the closure by welding
We will then have to weld the two parts of the closure to the ends of our previously made chain. The end links are cut in half to be welded either to the male or female part of the closure.

Finishes
We can then move on to the finishes, and in particular to the polishing which allows us to give it its white, silvery reflection, as you can appreciate in these images.
