Our online service allows you to create your own jewelry and allows us to respond to specific orders that we had not imagined.
The example is the processing of this jewel, a reproduction of a jewel from the film The Lord of the Rings. This is the Elf Princess Tiara: Arwen who wears it during episode 1 of the trilogy.
This special order was made for a wedding, so that the bride with her tiara would shine like the elf princess from the movie.

The specifications of the tiara for the wedding
Our client, the bride-to-be, wanted an identical reproduction of the elven tiara in solid silver.
The problem we encountered is that even if such a piece of jewelry appears light, being made of silver wire and perforated silver plates, it still weighs more than 170 grams, which represents a significant price for solid silver.
The bride wanted to use this jewel only for her wedding and asked us for suggestions to reduce the cost of this jewel which is both impressive and ephemeral in use.
We proposed making it in silver alpaca. The second option is to further modify the design to simplify it and save on manufacturing labor. This was not necessary and the bride-to-be agreed to have the alpaca tiara made.
The advantage of alpaca is that it costs almost nothing and can be worked in much the same way as silver. It can also easily be plated with silver for a similar result in weight and appearance.
Obviously it is a metal that has nothing to do with a noble metal like silver.
Jewelry design and manufacturing
Although we had film photos at our disposal for the reproduction of the jewel, we had to do a lot of research to find photos from all angles of this tiara and understand how the different pieces are connected to each other.
The job turned out to be a little more complicated than expected.

Once in possession of the different models making up the tiara, these were printed on paper, glued onto the alpaca sheets and then cut with a saw. We then proceeded with trimming and finishing, then modeling them to adapt perfectly to the support representing the head to the size of the bride.

The different pieces of the tiara are shaped and welded into place respecting the shape.
Once the structure of the jewel is finished, everything is plated in silver, giving the illusion, through weight and appearance, that the tiara is made of solid silver.
All that remains is to add the silver threads with the small silver and green zircon pearls.
And here is the result of the wedding jewels:
